When seeking refuge from evil

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

Translation: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.

Dua for Protection

Protection from the evil eye

People are told to recite this dua daily to ward off the evil eye so that they can receive Allah’s help and healing when needed.

رَّبِّ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزٰتِ الشَّيٰطِيْنِ. وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ رَبِّ اَنْ يَّحْضُرُوْنِ

Protection from disasters

اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَينِ يَدَيَّ, وَمِنْ خَلْفِي, وَعَنْ يَمِينِي, وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي, وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَن أُْغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي

Prayer for protection from illness

According to Abu Dawud, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite this supplication to protect himself from illness. An important reminder in this supplication is that our refuge is always in Allaah.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ، وَالْجُنُونِ، وَالْجُذَامِ، وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الأَسْقَامِ

Translation: O Allaah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, madness, elephantiasis, and the worst diseases [Hadith: Abu Dawud]

In one narration, it is also narrated that the third wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), Hazrat Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), says that whenever one of us fell ill, he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would wipe over the painful area and recite this supplication.

اللَّهُمَّ ربَّ النَّاسِ ، أَذْهِب الْبَأسَ ، واشْفِ ، أَنْتَ الشَّافي لا شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ ، شِفاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سقَماً

Translation: O Allaah, the Lord of mankind, remove my affliction and cure me, for You are the Healer and there is no cure except You. This is the One who leaves no disease behind. [Hadith: Saheeh al-Bukhari]
